Liza's roots in image making were born in her home country of Ukraine. She grew inspired by her grandfather's collection of Soviet-era cameras, enlargers, and the family pictures developed in his basement.
An imperfect environment led to an adoration of imperfection in her images- a pinpoint of chaos jabbed through a picture of beauty/life. The industrial landscape of her hometown Zaporizhzhia impacted her attraction to the empty , abandoned, neglected.
She often employs vintage cameras and expired film to create images that evoke a sense of nostalgia and timelessness.
Currently based in Los Angeles and often traveling, her current projects explore:
-Americana signage
-Industrial architecture
-Urban aesthetics
